Rishona,

Thanks for coordinating a fantastic client event!  I can't express enough appreciation for your diligent follow through planning the event, coordinating between service providers and making sure it was executed successfully.  You gave me peace of mind that I could focus on the business aspects of our event, without having to worry about anything else.  Your attention to every small detail and fantastic communication throughout the process was invaluable! - Noel W.

Sign in boards are a part of every Bar/Bat Mitzvah. It is a commemorative item that conveys the guests’ well-wishes to the honoree, and something that he or she can cherish forever. But in this day and age, teens are looking for more than just a board with signatures on it. They want something unique that can be kept for a long period of time. Some of my favorite methods of transforming the sign-in board are:

The New Age of Fundraising

During the economic recession of the precious years, one of the industries that was hit the hardest was the non-profit sector. Before 2005, corporations and small businesses were donating record amounts of money to both local and national causes. Since the economic downturn, soliciting money to sustain those cause have become increasingly difficult. People are being more selective about the donations they make, and are more careful with finding the right organization. With social responsibility now returning to the top of everyone’s mind, what trends do you need to know in order to ensure that your organizations attain the necessary funds?

Capturing that Perfect Mitzvah Moment

The saying is that “a picture is worth a thousand words.” This is the reason why photography is an important part of every event; it captures the memories of your event so that you will always have reminders. These memories are even more important at Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, because capturing the rite of passage when a boy or girl becomes a young man or woman is significant to the entire family. And since videography came on the scene, events can no be captured in full play-back format rather than in photographed moments. But Mitzvah photography and videography have evolved over the years, as the tastes and styles of teenagers change and as technology improves.

Location, Location, Location!

The venue is one of the first decisions you have to make regarding your event. When deciding what type of venue to choose, you need to think about the size of the event, the theme, and the decor, not to mention your budget. The venue can either inspire your event and take it in the right direction, or you may need to transform it. This can be accomplished with lighting, draping, and decor; all of which can be utilized in order to make the space fit the event vision. Whether you find a venue that fits your theme and personality, or you perform a little decorating magic to transform it, finding the right venue is an important decision. So, what type of venues are out there?

Stressed Spelled Backwards is Desserts

6/29/2011

“Stressed spelled backwards is desserts.” I recently came across this quote and could not stop thinking about this little piece of wisdom. How many of us have turned to chocolate and ice cream in order to brighten up our days? And don’t we always end our evenings with dessert? Dessert is also the ending to every stressful (but wonderful) event of our lives: our birthdays, anniversaries, bar/bat mitzvahs and weddings. In the event world, we have strayed away from the traditional wedding cakes, and even veered from the latest trend of event cupcakes. So, what direction has the dessert trends gone to in 2011?

Floriography: The Language of Flowers

6/11/2011

Flowers are an essential component of every wedding. Through the floral arrangements and bouquets, guests get a sense of the couple’s personalities. While trendy wedding flowers change seasonally, the rose continues to be the most popular bouquet choice; Lilies, peonies, hydrangeas, tulips and orchids represent the trendier choices. As the buzz from the Royal Wedding comes to an end, many people are looking at the couple’s wedding for trends and ideas.

Summer is often characterized with rising temperatures, unbearable humidity, and fun with friends and family. To me, nothing screams “SUMMER” more than a nice picnic or barbecue with great food and good company.
